Rebecca Soar studied at Norwich University College of the Arts and gained a BA (Hons) In Surface Design. Whilst at university she completed a short placement at AHMM, an award-winning architecture practice, based in London.
She has completed courses for Event Management in the Creative Industries, at Central Saint Martins, as well as a creative course at the White Chapel Gallery. Her background focuses on the arts and she has previously volunteered and assisted with Yinka Shonibare CBE projects, Norfolk and Norwich Festival and event assisting with Harrogate International Festivals 2014. She has also volunteered at the Southbank Centre - The Imagine festival.
Her driving force is to create patterns with unique materials: SXFC paints, powders, Thermochromic paint, marbling paper, glow in the dark and fluorescent paints. She focuses on making stencil templates by cutting paper by hand, in a range of sizes from A5-A1 and manipulates these shapes to create floral silhouettes. Further developing these shapes into a final pattern, merging the two styles together to create the final designs.
I welcome commissions and have a limited range of bespoke gifts and wearable art. Please contact for any enquires, I hope you enjoy the artwork. Contact here.
